Dr. Michael S. Harris - Dallas Ophthalmologist
Dr. Michael S. Harris is a skilled Ophthalmologist, who has been practicing in the DFW metroplex for over 40 years. He is American Board of Ophthalmology certified.
Dr. Harris practiced in private practice for many years at Methodist Hospital. He currently works at LaserCare Eye Center as a contract Ophthalmologist. He has a wide array of experience with Cataract and other eye surgeries. He performs Comprehensive eye exams and has a lot of experience with Glaucoma, Age-related macular degeneration and Diabetes.
Dr. Harris received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, where he had the honor of being elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society. Following a surgical internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, he served in the United States Navy as a Flight Surgeon to Fleet Air Wing Eleven. He completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Dallas.
In his spare time, Dr. Harris likes to give back. He serves as a volunteer ophthalmologist locally at a number of clinics, including the Peabody AIDS clinic, Christ’s Family Clinic and the Stewpot. He also has performed international medical mission work in Michoacán, Mexico, Kenya, and Cuba. He enjoys reading history, off-road cycling, and traveling with his wife, Carolyn and their Lhasa Apso, Boomer. He is a fan of the SMU Mustangs, Texas Longhorns and Texas Rangers.
